In recent years, there is a trend of high-speed development in Chinese civil aviation Industry. However, competition in the market becomes daily intensified as result of the gradually free aviation transportation administrative policy. For years, aviation transportation in Tibet is the popular topic among the industry for its high-speed development, huge market potential and monopolized operation. To form Air China Tibet Company (ACTC) is on the blueprint of after-reformed new Air China to reinforce aviation transportation business and keep the market share in Tibet region. Under the special conditions of the Tibetan civil aviation in market demand, developing Patten, technical support, how to choose the development strategy of ACTC to cope with the incoming severe competition is the most important strategical question which is worth of deep thinking and needs to be made decision at earliest consideration.Based on this times background, the writer tries to find out the development strategy, competition strategy and implement strategy of ACTC to face challenges from the market through systematical use of strategy management theoretical knowledge and on the basis of research and analysis, in the expectation of being adversary and referential to the operation and development of Air China Tibet Company.The thesis is composed of five partsThe first part is the introduction The part mainly includes the definition of strategy management, simple review on the evolution of the theory, and discussion the thesis's research backgrounds, presuppose, chain of thought and research methods.The second part is the analysis and evaluation of the present situation of Tibetan aviation transportation, mainly focus on the analysis and research of Tibetan aviation industry's fundamental situation, market, routes, fleet configuration, airport construction, and Air Traffic Control equipments.The third part analyzes the strategical environment, advantages and disadvantages of ACTC From the study of political and economical situation of the Tibetan region to the analysis of ACTC's exterior environment, from the study of aviation competition in Tibet to the analysisof industrial environment of ACTC, and reach the ACTC's EFE Matrix. Meanwhile, from the study of ACTC's advantages and disadvantages in safety, technique, experience, resource assignment, and reach the IFE Matrix of ACTC.The fourth part illustrates the development strategy of ACTC, mainly research the decision-making of ACTC's development strategy and main functional strategies in accordance with analysis result of former parts, and further demonstrates the strategy decision through SWOT analysis and Boston Matrix in combination with industrial characteristics analysis.The fifth part is about implementation of the development strategy of ACTC, From the aviation transportation professional point of view, research the organizing support, resource assignment and environmental support for the implement of the ACTC's development strategy. Finally reach the research conclusion.The thesis is based on the combination of theories and practices and takes fully consideration on influence from factors including government policies in the process of strategy decision, therefore, is relatively manageable.
