With the establishment of Chinese marketing economic system, the domestic insurance industry belongs to the fast increase industry, and has distinctly the characteristics of economic scale, and is the fiercest industry in terms of competition in our country. After China's entry into WTO, Chinese insurance companies will encounter an increasing domestic demand and the threat from foreign insurance companies. Under the environment of globalization competition, it is the most important how to find out and establish its core advantages for insurance companies. At the same time it is also the problem that these companies need to solve urgently in our country at present. With the globalization stepping forward, the competitions of all professions, as well as the pressure, are becoming tenser and tenser. The country's insurance companies are facing the harsh competition of the foreign insurance companies, esp. the international groups. The oversea companies prevail over us in many aspects, like size, capital and it's quality, technology and service.By now, business competition already upgraded to strategy level, and it's main purpose is to seek competitive advantages and enterprise's sustainable development. The competition in Chinese insurance market has come into being, and with China's entry to the WTO, the market will be more open. In Tibet, the "westerndevelopment program" brings huge opportunities to the insurance company in this region, but on the other hand, the opening up of the insurance market in the western region will incur severe challenges and competitions to this sector. Under this special background, what should PICC Property and Casualty Company Limited Tibet Branch do is a important strategic problem which needs us to ponder over and make correct decision.The purpose of this thesis is to study the market and product strategies for PICC Property and Casualty Company Limited Tibet Branch based on contemporary background in the 21st century, using the basic economic theories.
