Material Cost Control And Information Management Discussion

This thesis introduces the main functions of material management, the meaning of cost control and the composition of material cost. Accordingly, the thesis discusses the material management and its function in cost control, and introduces and compares the features of four types of cost control model. Based on purchase management and storage management, it analyzes the current situation of material management of TPCC(Tianjin Petrochemical Corporation), and discusses the ways and means to decrease purchase cost and storage cost. Further more, the thesis analyzes the information requirements in material cost control and the support of informatization development for material cost control activities. According to the actual situation of material management of TPCC and operation process, the thesis makes the analysis of the requirements for information management system and puts forward the target of material management system. Finally, the thesis gives design philosophy for the structure of material management system. According to the present responsibilities and business process of Material & Equipment Company of TPCC, the function module of material management system is studied, and data processing flow chart for planning management module, contract management module and storage management module are worked out. The thesis provides the author's personal opinion for execution of material management information system.By discussing cost control and information management, the main purpose of this thesis is to help the relative departments and leaders to make decision, and decrease material cost so as to improve the international and domestic rival power of TPCC, under the precondition of ensuring successful long-term running of production plants.
