Land is the basis of human existence and social development. With the deep implement of our country's reform and opening, with the rapid economic growth, and with the quick progress of industrialization and urbanization, the situation that land is used in a large scale in every walk of life is becoming more obvious and serious, which leads to many conflicts in the respect of land use and more and more acute man-land inconsistency. It is obviously embodied in the following aspects: ï¹–he conflicts between maintaining nation food security and propelling urbanization, and between keeping dynamic equilibrium of total cultivated land area and ecological environment are the problems of different types of land use's transformation and disposal, such as the transformation and disposal between land resource and agriculture land use, and between construction land and ecological land. (2) the transforming of different modes and types of land use has changed the base of human existence, land ecosystem. The land problems, especially the change of land use have become the kernel and focus of land management.Land use and its change is a quite complex problem. Land use is the living and production activity, which is directly related to land and conducted by human beings on the base of land resources. Land use is a comprehensive representation represented by human environment and natural environment through their interaction of material flow and energy flow. Land use reflects the result caused by activity of human beings' using various land resources. The result includes the active and possibly potential negative effect. The change of land use may be regarded as the coupling of different land use requirements and land use types in the resource field of land use, and it is the result of land use. The motivation of land use change originates from the land users' comparison of the marginal utility of different land uses. To a certain region with proportionable structure of land use, when the endogenetic and exotrophic power work, the marginal utility of one type or multiple types of land use brings out change, and dynamic force of pursuing maximum utility will prompt adjustment of land use structure and turn out new equilibration structure eventually. The type, direction and frequency degree of land use change not only reflectthe process of the space-time dynamic change of the earth's surface landscape and become the most salient landscape mark of the earth surface system, but also become the base of rebuilding the equilibration of land use-ecosystem-productivity.Taking Shapingba district. Chongqing as an example. This paper probes and discusses regional land use change and its land ecological system's structure, function and evolutive relation through deeply analyzing land use change and its situation of ecosystem health. This paper mainly contains the following aspects:(1) Area of cultivated land, water area and unused is decreasing. The reduced area and range of cultivated land both stand first on the list. The cultivated land area in 2002 decreased 2331.40hm2 and 5.88% compared with it in 1992; Then, the unused land, 440.20hm2 and 1.12%; The last, the water area, 91.20hm2 and 0.23%.(2) Urban and build up, woodland, garden plot and traffic land increase. The increment of urban and build up is 1126.00 hm2, stands first on the list. The main increment of urban and build up coming from cultivated land, is 1009.80 hm2, taking up 89.68% of the total increment; Then, the increment of woodland, 914.50 hm2, mainly from cultivated land, 1009.80 hm2, 89.68% of the total increment; Then the garden plot, 580.90hm2, mainly from cultivated land, 381.40 hm2, 65.65% of the total increment. The last, traffic land 241.4 hm2, mainly from cultivated land, 117.40 hm2, 48.63% of the total increment.(3) The healthy and sub-healthy ecotypes are dominant in Shapingba district, the sum of total area is 26033.12 hm2, 63.70% of the estimated ecotypes.(4) The healthy ecolo...
