The Implication And Demands Of Implementing The Principle Of Ideological Education--Taking People As Foundation

Ideological education is the art of educating and persuading people. It should fully reflect the trend of the times, grasp the regularity, be creative and especially stick to the principle of "taking people as foundation". This principle, as indicated in the thesis, refers to the idea that ideological education should take the interest, the initiative and the comprehensive development of the people as the foundation; affect and inspire the educatees to take the educational object as the object of their own and strive for it by means of caring their interest, giving full play to their initiative and promoting their comprehensive development; and that, thereby, achieve the goal of ideological education. Caring people's interest means ideological education should respect and understand people's pursuit of interest, lead people to acquire a right perspective of interest and coordinate the interest of different people. Giving full play to people's initiative means ideological education should not only give free rein to the initiative of the educators but also that of the educatees. Promoting people's comprehensive development means ideological education should lead people to the right political direction so as to promote the political socialization of the individual; improve people's moral quality and thus accelerate the socialization of the individuals' morality; develop people's personality, exploit their intellect and foster their intellectual productivity. "Taking people as foundation", one of the most important principles of ideological education, is not an imagination, but has its intrinsic foundation, which includes the law of ideological education, the situation of " Four Diversity", and the implementation of the idea of " Three Representation". During the process ofpractice, ideological education should carry out the principle of "taking people asfoundation", " Two Unity"-- unity of self-respect and respect, unity ofresponsibility and tolerance, and " Three Combination"--combination ofreason education and emotional education, combination of self-education and social education, combination of solving ideological problems and practical problems.The principle of "taking people as foundation" is the starting point and foundation of our strengthening and improving the ideological education in the new millennium. We believe that, under the guidance of this principle, ideological education will shine new vitality and become the impetus of the great masses.
