In the electric power market, generating companies change from conventional accomplishing tasks to submitting bids to sell electricity because of the profitable factor, and the purpose and the strategy for producing electricity also change. So how to use public information to make the reasonable electricity price to make the maximizing profits is the one of the key problems that generating companies should solve. The electric power market is the oligopoly market; the Gournot model is one of the models of game theory which are extensive used to analyze the produce strategy of producers in the oligopoly market. The Gournot model is used to presented an adaptive dynamic model in the oligopoly electricity market, and suppose the anti need curve of the market and the total output of all electricity companies are public information. By introducing the concept of adaptive expected output, an adaptive dynamic Gournot model for generating unit power output is presented. These dynamic models are always stable in theory. Simulations are provided to show the stable values of the model if bidding for generating unit is the best response of one generating company to its rivals. The aim of this paper is to offer a theory guide for generating companies to make their bidding decisions.
