Human, Living With Dignity

Human dignity is an key concept for the religion, philosophy and ethic, which is based on humanism, As a basic ethic principle, respect of human dignity means emphasizing supreme value and dignity of the individual and protecting them. After the WWII, in consideration of the lesson of the Nazi's disdain and persecution of humanism, the reflection of people's living condition and the apprehension of modern country's harm to the individual, the western countries started to amend the legislation with the clause of "human dignity" ,which was regarded as the core value of law system and rule the whole system of law. "human dignity" has been switched to a legal word other than a cultural, religion and ethic one. as the top level of constitutional criterion and pursuit of value, "human dignity" is not only one of the basic human rights, but also clause regulates the explanation and application of basic human rights in legislation, directly influences the legal practice and protects the idea of living with dignity. Therefore, the protection of "human dignity" inclines to core spirits of modern law on which the basis of modern law should be placed.
