A Brief Thesis On The Tragedy & It's Reason For Chen Duxiu's Last Years

Chen Duxiu, as a historical personage, had rich and complicated experience, and occupied the important status that can't be ignored in China's modern history. Therefore the research on him became such a hot subject in the field of the history of the Communist Party of China, China's modern and contemporary history and the history of the international communist movement that was concerned by academia. Especially with the documents and materials' deciphering about Comintern, the Soviet Communist Party and China's revolution in the national archives of Russia, the research on Chen Duxiu has become a focus and light spot again, and the corresponding achievements emerged in endlessly. However, Generally speaking, the research on Chen Duxiu, the academia had been relatively concentrated the relationship between Chen and the New Culture Movement, the Chen Duxiu's thought about proletarian revolutionary leadership, Chen Duxiu's view about "revolutionary theory two times", the relationship between Chen and Trotskyite, Chen's political thought in the Anti-war period, etc. But, the study on Chen Duxiu in his old age, especially, why the Party had proposed and set up the extensive national united front of resist against Japan clearly, but Chen Duxiu, as a firm patriot in the anti-war period, had been ranked the out of the National united front of resist against Japan unexpectedly? The research of the academia on this was neither deep nor systematic. This text attempts to understand Chen Duxiu's tragic incident of this old age again in term of summarizing the experience and lessons of united front, analyze Chen Duxiu's reason that the tragedy produces in old age omni-directionally, thus probe into the historical law and experience and lessons of history contained among them.
