The world-famous quality management expert Dr. J.M. Juran hadsaid:"20th century is a quantity century and 21st century is a quality century".Nowadays, the world economy is undergoing a change fromquantity-oriented increasing to quality-oriented increasing and the marketcompetition also changed from price-oriented to quality-oriented. In thisbuyers' market, with incessant higher requests from the customers, theenterprises quality management is facing a more and more fresh andcomplicated task. The pace of products innovation continues to quicken and the life cyclefrom designing to production/implementation of products or services turns tobe continuously shortened. The exacerbated international competition andthe increasing cost pressure request the enterprises' workflow to be moreand more flat. All of these changes brought about higher and higherrequirements for the process quality. Under such a circumstance ofincreasing requirements for quality, there must be an under-controlled,capable process to realize the self-evaluation of quality. This processrequires continually monitoring every process of the enterprises in order toguarantee the reliability or rectify the defects in time. The author believesthat the vital method of monitoring the process is the process qualityauditing. FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. is a joint venture between FAWand Volkswagen. From the debut of the company, FAW-Volkswagen had afull-scale introduce of the management and production systems fromVolkswagen, which includes the quality guarantee system. In October 1996,the quality Assurance Dept. began to apply inner process auditing and listedthis work in the content of training abroad. In October 1996, experts fromNeckarsulm were invited by Quality Assurance Dept. to give a trainingcourse about inner process auditing to the relative operatives. From then on,the process quality auditing (previous process auditing) was formallyintroduced into quality management of FAW-Volkswagen. Because of thespecial attention from the Volkswagen to the powertrain production, plenty oflearning and exercising opportunities poured into the engine productionprocess. Through continual study and exercising, the process qualityauditors deepened their understandings and unceasingly accomplished their iii吉林大学硕士学位论文knowledge structure. At the same time, the auditing methods became moreand more mature and this excavated more ways for further improvement.The process auditing is periodical, while the process quality improvement ispersistent. With the form of team working, for a long time, the relativeoperatives focused on the production problems appeared during theauditing and kept improving the engine production process according to thespecifications of VDA6.3 and benchmarked the successful solutions ofrelative plants in the Volkswagen Group. Seven years has passed and as anachievement of arduous endeavor, the engine production process quality ofFAW-Volkswagen was positioned upriver in Konzern Group of Volkswagenand was one-up domestically. The reliable production process guaranteedthe reliability of finished products and the "surging power, reliable engine "has become the most attractive marketing slogan of all models of carsproduced by FAW-Volkswagen. The author is one of the introducers and principals of inner processquality auditing. Aiming at the experiences, lessons and achievements etc.,which happened in the production process of FAW-Volkswagen during thepast seven years when the VDA6.3 process quality auditing wasimplemented, the author minutely dissertated and analyzed how to enhancethe enterprises process quality ability with know-how in order to fit therequirements of the specification of VDA6.3. The conclusions can be usedas a reference for the other domestic enterprises. At the same time, theauthor also hopes that the conclusions can be popularized...
