Panhu mythology is the first ancestor mythology of Yao nationality which spreads the earliest with the longest time and the widest region. It consists of Panhu dog mythology, Qianjiatong legend and cross-sea legend. It contains " multi-elements of ethnicity identity", at the same time, it constructs and explains ethnicity, ethnicity history, ethnicity identity and ethnicity border, incorporating them into an organic whole and strengthening human identity and belonging consciousness in the ethnic group constantly.Taken Shuibin Village in Gongcheng, the autonomous county of Yao nationality, as an example, this thesis describes how Panhu mythology develops into a sacrificial and redeem-a-vow-to-a-god ceremony, which is molded into a traditional festival finally in order to bring to light the culture background in which nation/Yao nationality, the core strength/the edge strength of Yao nationality, as writing people, mold the holiday texts with their intentions.
