Research On The Entrepreneurial Environment Of Jinan City

Active entrepreneurship plays an important role in promoting the economicdevelopment of a country or region. Successful entrepreneurial activities bring socialwealth and provide physical and spiritual foundation for social progress. Promotingentrepreneurship should be an important issue when government considers economicdevelopment. Entrepreneurial environment determines the activeness ofentrepreneurial activity. Thus, creating a good entrepreneurial environment is one ofthe basic aims of government in achieving economic progress and employmentincrease. Under the framework of Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, this thesis engagedplenty of expert interviews concerning conditions and factors of the entrepreneurialenvironment in Jinan city, capital of Shandong province. These conditions coversfinancial support, government policies, government programs, education and training,R&D transfer, commercial, legal infrastructure, internal market openness, access tophysical infrastructure, cultural, social norms. Based on the survey, the thesiscompares the results of Jinan city with China and other GEM members, and, inreference to other social and economic data and information of Jinan city, analyzes itsstrength and weakness in entrepreneurial environment, gives the appraisal. Finally,the thesis gives some suggestions on improving the entrepreneurial environment.
