China Orient Asset Management Corporation(COAMC) , which was founded in 1999, has three main tasks including reducing financial risk, retrieving the bad loans at the maximum degree and helping nation-owned enterprise to overcome difficulties. After completing the mission dealling with nonperformance loans endued by the government, how to change its operation development stratagem not only correctly but also in time becomes the most important challenge to COAMC.COAMC has carried out perfectly in dealling with nonperformance loans from 1999. Until July 2003, COAMC had dealt with 118.4 billion Yuan RMB which adds up to 45 percent of the total existing asset. We can foretell that COAMC will finish the above task at most in five years from 2003. Strategic operation reformation is very essencial for the future of COAMC. This article is based on broad investigation in COAMC , inquiring into several specialists , consulting domestic and international information .At last, the author draws the conclusion of COAMC's reformation stratagem and the measures must be taken in COAMC's reformation by analyzing the bad asset management business , investment bank business in China, the advantage of COAMC, the weakness of COAMC, economic environment, market capacity and the competition opponent . The author try to give some constructive suggestion for practice in where will COAMC transfer to, how will COAMC reform and what is the key problem in the reformation. The study is significant to the corporation's perspective. What's more , the study can also give some advice to the reformation of nonprofit-aimed financial institution in China .
