From Social Mobilizing To Meaning Constructing

The thesis studies the trade union of Shanghai from 1920's to 1930's.With the Change of traditional one- sided research only paying attention to trade union leading class struggle, the paper puts the class struggle on a broad academic vision -the society mobilization with the relevant knowledge of sociology, political science. The main content of the paper was recited as following:Firstly, the class struggle is only one kind which of trade union mobilizing the society. There are still many activities such as labor dispute and participating in various kinds of commemorative activities. The purpose of this thesis not only lies in this, but also analyses the course of the social mobilization. This course has two kinds of basic modes. The first mode is turning the bitterness of daily life into the class suffering. This kind of mode is advocated by such radical forces as the Communist Party of China and other social force. The second kind is turning the bitterness of daily life into the political party, national suffering, advocating the labor and capital to mediate, showing solicitude for the national calamity, rebelling oppression to workers of outside force such as the warlord and imperialism. Mediate forces such as the Kuomintang advocate this mode. During cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, Two mobilizing mode bring out the best for each other.Secondly, this paper introduces the concept of the mobilizing rate to carry on quantitative analysis on the result of trade union's social mobilization during different periods.Thirdly, this paper discuss the meaning of mobilizing the masses of workers In other words, this paper investigates what impel worker join trade union? Identity, work treatment, labor's education, working legislate, worker's autonomy, help works to be a political being.This paper has also chosen two concrete cases to analyze the all course of social mobilizing in order to support the analysis of preceding paragraphs.Conclusion is that Shanghai trade union has broad space among 19 20-30's. Though trade union 's energy limits because of suppression of various kinds of mandatory strength, but the trade union has certain influence on government policy, workers' national identity, economic treatment, education and autonomy. Those become valuable legacy for modern trade union.
