Research On The Retailors Ordering Policy For Quantity Discount With Supply Chain Management

Supply chain management (SCM) is an effective way to adapt to the global competition in the 21st century. As a new management mode, it integrates and coordinates all enterprises' resources in the SCM, to emphasize strategic partner cooperation, information integration, quick response and consumer value creation. According to quantity discount policy, this thesis studies inventory management under the SCM (Supply Chain Management) condition, which aims to find the products' optimal order quantity that maximizes the retailer's expected profit with constant and stochastic demand and substitution.At first, on the basis of introducing the research background and meaning, chapter 1 summarizes the research status of inventory management in SCM, and then points out the main research contents and methods.The key work in chapter 2 is to introduce the developing background, intension, basic thought, objective and means of SCM, and then analyzes the developing trend of it.In chapter 3 to introduce the quantity discount theory in detail firstly, then to establish two typical quantities discount mathematic models with the actual conditions.In chapter 4 mainly to simulate the system models and analyze them. We compare three models, including the order model with constant demand or stochastic demand, considering the quantity discount respectively with some actual examples. Moreover, the significant management enlightenments are put forward.At last all achievements of the thesis are summed up and some future directions for research are suggested.
