| The changes of times and the development of the society are sure to cause changes in people's ideas. And such is also the case in the fields of marriage and family. This is an objective law that cannot be changed by people's will. Since the 1980s, with the reforms and opening up and the development of the society, and with the establishment of the socialist market economy, great changes have taken place in social life. Many new concepts, new situation and new problems have occurred in fields of marriage and family. In the late 1990s, oriented toward complex phenomena and multi-element concepts in marriage and family, there was a full discussion among experts, scholars and broad masses in various trades. Such a great discussion ended with the issue of the new Law of Marriage at the beginning of the new era. However, the deep-layer problems of understanding reflected in the discussion still need to be further solved in ideology. For this reason, in this thesis, a systematic study has been made on several hot-spot problems involved in the great discussion, and a countermeasure reflection on how to conduct correct education of the ideas on marriage and family has been made. In the thesis, first, a brief formulation is made on changes in ideas of marriage and family in our country since the founding of the PRC. And influences of the social changes on ideas of marriage and family and the guidance of three laws of marriage for establishing correct ideas of marriage and family are clarified. In the 1950s, ideas of marriage and family, such as free marriage and equality among men and women, were confirmed in the Law of Marriage. The Law of Marriage of the 1980s established ideas of marriage and family that paid more respect to individuals' feelings and personal will. The new Law of Marriage has confirmed a new vista of ideas on marriage and family. In the thesis, emphasis is put on a systematic formulation of significant hot-spot problems that have occurred in marriage and family with the deepening of market economy and the speeding up of the progress of modernization in the 1990s. Problems mainly include the following: whether the mutual faith of the couple can be written in the Law of Marriage; how to punish the phenomena of "concubines"; the problem of the prohibition of family violence; is it necessary to limit the divorce of the spouse that is faulty, and what are the reasons for the occurrence of these problems. Based on this, new stipulations on relevant hot-spot problems in the new Law of Marriage are taken as the cutting-in point. And a quite deep analysis is made on stipulations of "spouses should be mutually faithful," "a spouse is not allowed to live together with other people", "family violence is prohibited," and on free divorce. Moreover, an analysis is also made on several theoretical problems involved in the stipulations of the law on the divorce fault damage compensation. It is pointed out that the stipulations of the Law of Marriage accord to the basic Marxist theory on marriage and family, and at the same time, they embody the important content of our marriage system on free marriage, monogyny and equality between the couple. They represent the will and requirements of majority people, embody the modern civilization and social progress, and reflect the correct ideas of marriage and family that people should establish in the new era. In the last section of the essay, reflection is made on conducting the education of correct ideas of marriage and family. It is pointed out that in order to guide people to establish ideas of marriage and family that accord with the spirit of the Law of Marriage, it is necessary to strengthen the legal education on marriage and the education of ideology and morality. And it is also important to purify the environment of publicity and public opinions so as to create strong and correct public opinions in the society.
