In order to gain competitive edge in the market economy, the company must design its development strategy on the basis of its changing surrounding environment and its own pros and cons, the chief target of which is to achieve a dynamic equilibrium among the external environment, the internal conditions and the business target under the dynamically competitive circumstances. As far as A Company is concerned, its business target is to become a competitive "Community Operator" in China, which is the basis for SWOT analysis and for determining the opportunities and threats the company is likely to confront, the advantages and disadvantages it enjoys. The company, after SWOT analysis, must learn to make full use of the opportunities provided by the environment, bring its own advantages into full play, and avert the threats the environment poses and downplay its own disadvantages, the combination of which is used tocreate and maintain the needed competitive edge.Under the guidance of strategic management theory, and through a detailed analysis of the company's external environment and its own resources, the article presents constructive suggestions pertaining to the company development strategy and its implementation. Combining relative theory with current company conditions, and by means of SWOT analysis, analysis of its competitive capability in the industry, and analysis of its key elements, the article also defines itsdevelopment strategy, determines the implementation approaches, and finally offers the necessary policy suggestions.The new development strategy, its implementation approaches, and policy suggestions presented in the article are instrumental in the long-term development of the company. Based on theory and practice, the article has also lent considerable reference to the long-term development of other similar business entities.
