| With the development of world economy and the improving of people' living standard, travel has been an important way of living for the man in modern society. Tourism has been one of most important industries which have the fastest developing speed, vitality and potential. Sport tourism is important part of tourism, is new kind of industry which was produced by the combination of sports and tourism. Recent years, with the translation of peoples' vocational idea to health and the quality of life, the idea of "buying health" began to merge into peoples' mind. People are more like to take part in the travel activities which are related with sports. Sports tourism is becoming fashionable. Its development attracted the attention from the world. Especially in Japan, Europe and America, enormous market of tourism has been formed. Sports tourism was started very late in China, but developed very quickly, especially with China's entry WTO and the future 2008 Beijing Olympic Games which provide good opportunity for the development of sports tourism. Recently, different sports travel activities were carried out quickly, for instance, national travel bureau successfully brought "Chinese sports practical travel" in 2001. The 60 local sports practical travel activities as well as 80 specific sports practical travel products and route made the tourists from home and abroad feel the charm of Chinese sports travel products. Although sports travel has been gradually developed, yet Chinese sports travel standards for only 5 percent in tourism. Sports tourism still has great developmental potential and developmental room. This research focuses on Henan province by using way of document, expert talking and real exploring way and so on. Discussion and study were done for some theories and practical problems in the exploitation of Henan sports tourism resources. SWOT analysis was made for the exploitation of sports tourism resources according to the recent condition of Henan sports tourism resources. The reused exploitation of Henan sports tourism resources was studied specially. At the same time to exploit the potential sports tourism resources and look for the combined point between eco-tourism and "Red tourism" then to set up the great sports travel opinion which is good for many health in physical and mind. Also this research attempts to provide new way for the exploitation of Henan sports tourism resource. We utilized sports physical science, travel economics, travel system theory and so on to construct the mode of sports tourism resource and put forward proper exploitation strategy for sports tourism resource. The result shows that Henan tourism resources are abundant with special characteristics, for example, ShaoLinQuan, TaiJiQquan and many different festival activities which have already been accepted by the tourists from different corner of the world. But, after the on-site investigation for the exploitation condition of sport-tourism resources, we found that some projects of tourism were not booming owing to the problems of security measure, product class and service quality and so on. The reason is that the exploitation of sports tourism resources doesn't explore the deep meaning from the angle of culture. Some serious problems were still popular in the exploitation of sports tourism resource as "small" (small scale),"ununited"(target market scattered),"weak"(without enough funds and weak capability of competition) and "low quality"(weak management and weak service quality). All the problems caused the sports tourism products without attraction and potential and continual developmental capability. In the new era of constructing well-off society, sports tourism is sure to melt in the rules of WTO and get in touch with international world. At the same time, it will be important industry and new economic growth point.
