The Associativity Of Violent Crime And Pathology-Mentality Mechanism

Objective: Previous researches have shown that there are close relations between aggressive behavior and center 5-HT system in animal experiments. This is a hypothesis: 5-HT system makes the cerebrum sedation. Intensive function leads to inhibiting behavior, to contrary, subdued function conduce to stimulate various proceeding. This experiment can identify the associativity of 5-HT and violent crime. And we can approach biology mechanism of violent behavior further; what's more, we will discuss personality and pathology-mentality of criminal violence. Methods: Through case control study, collecting samples of violent criminality,nonviolent criminality and health adult, combining gender,age and culture degree, using ELISA method, we compare the variability of 5-HT in different gender and criminal character; We selected 220 female criminals that serving a sentence in woman prison of Chongqing and 220 male criminals that serving a sentence in prison of Chongqing, and let each tested people filling out EPQ,PDQ-4,SCL-90 questionnaire, and withdraw after filling independently. Results: From gender factor singly, this distinction of 5-HT is no significance; or from criminal property factor singly, this distinction is no significance too. Cohere gender and criminal character, the 5-HT concentration of male violent criminality is lower than nonviolent criminality and health- man. In EPQ questionnaire,there is no difference between male and female or between voilence and nonviolence; In PDQ-4 qustionnaire,there is difference of anti-social between male and female; In SCL-90 questionnaire, male and female common criminal groups had lower scores on " Positive symptom distress level " than male and female violence criminal groups. Male and female common criminal groups have significance discrepancy on total score to male and female violence criminal groups. Besides, male and female criminal violence groups had discrepancies on " Photic anxiety " and " psychoticism ". Conclusion: There are close relativity between 5-HT system and violent behavior in human body. Probably because the degree is weaker, the distinction between woman violent criminality and nonviolent criminality or health woman is no significance. Male criminal violence group is higher than female criminal violence group obviously on anti-social personality, there are varity diference on pathology-mentality.Maybe it is attribute to criminality.
