China is a place where earthquakes take place many a time, and earthquakes have wide areas, a light source, a high frequency, strength. Facilities and the buildings in the range of earthquake areas often have a low resistance.Such as the Tangshan earthquake in 1976, the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008.Earthquakes not only cause heavy casualties, but also cause houses to collapse, lifeline to damage, and to lead to floods, fires, disease and other secondary disaster which can cause people to some psychological panic, disorder of life and can cause the basic functions of society to destruction.According to statistics, there are 80-90% of the earthquakes which occurred in the rural areas, such as 21 devastating earthquakes which occurred in rural areas in 2003. The development of economic and social in rural areas In China lags behind, and the capacity against earthquakes is very weak. As soon as earthquakes take place, most of rural areas whoes combat is great. Therefore, reconstruction in rural areas is especially important.The 8.0-magnitude earthquake at 14:28 on May 12,2008 which took place in Sichuan, is an most devastating, the largest earthquake affected areas since the founding of the People's Republic of China. Tens of thousands of compatriots passed away, thousands of families fragmented, many homes reduced to rubble. It is very difficult to do restorate and reconstruct after earthquakes. The worst-hit areas are almost in the countryside, the important and difficult post of reconstruction after earthquakes are also in the countryside. what do reconstruction of rural areas after earthquakes include? How to do the work of restoration and reconstruction after earthquakes in rural areas. How to use, protect fruitful results? How to achieve sustainable development for along-term? This paper is to study the contents.First, this paper has briefly described the status of the situation of recovery and reconstruction after earthquakes and something of Wenchuan Earthquake and list experience of restoration and reconstruction after earthquakes at home and abroad. This paper has introduced the concept of restoration and reconstruction after earthquakes and the study of restoration and reconstruction, which includes the general requirements of restoration and reconstruction, reconstruction of houses and other infrastructure, industry, lifeline engineering and order of psychological and life. Then, it has made an analysis about recovery and reconstruction of Qingchuan. Finally, I give some proposals about recovery and reconstruction after earthquakes in rural areas. The method is to visit 36 towns to investigate and study in Qingchuan.I took aim at the the existing system of reconstruction to analysis the situation. Restoration and reconstruction of Qingchuan achieved much through the central, State Council's plan, Zhejiang Province's force and the local people's hard work. Next, we should do something and make great efforts for Qingchuan's long-term development.
