The Study On Social Support For Rural Females Of 5·12 Earthquake Devastated Areas

The framework of this paper is analyzed with social support theory, gender perspective to the study, using participation observation, depth interviews, focus groups, literature and other social research methods to study the post-disaster social support to the women in the X village after "5·12" earthquake. In summing up the experiences of rural women in four major life turning point of disaster, the four stages of social support for rural women is described. And further from the formal and informal social support two respects, the paper summarize the form and features of post-disaster social support for rural womenThe study discovery:Earthquake has brought a lot of pressure for rural women, At the same time they also received a variety of formal and informal social support. I believe that the Government's policy support, professional support of NGO and a variety of informal social support are the major social support to the rural women after disaster, and outlines three features of the post-disaster social support to the rural women:Government policies play an important role in supporting, but not perfect; post-disaster informal social support for women's lives play an important role, but the end is weak; professional support of NGO as a supplementary force in reconstruction play a significant role, but still lack system security.At last, I proposed construction the initial idea of post-disaster social support model of rural women, study post-disaster rural women support. These include the Government's policy support model and professional support of NGO model, in government policy support model, the main elements of this model include enhancement factor and defect factor, systematically analyze five specific aspects that affect social support; In the professional support of NGO, create model from three angles of the implementation of social policies, carrying out community work and formulation of social policy. In order to achieve the support goal of division of labor between the government and society, building disaster social support networks of rural women.
