The Relationship Between Democracy And Ecology

Eco- socialism generated from the western green campaign in the 1970s, and became a conspicuous social thought in the 1990s by means of its distinctive features. In the modern world, economic development caused many serious ecological environment problems, from the relationship between democracy and ecology, eco-socialists think generally, capitalist democracy actually exists only on a form or procedure. It is for the capital accumulation, cannot truly protect ecology and maintain the sustainable development of ecology. And the Soviet socialism cause serious ecological environment problems, one important reason is lack of democracy, resulting in a series of serious economic, political and social problems. Both are made with ecological relative, and ecological socialist democracy is the harmonious and unified with ecology, democratic and ecology is an indispensable part of the socialism. Under the analysis of capitalist democracy and the Soviet model of the socialist democracy lack of democracy, by promote of the green movement the democratic concept of eco-socialism has gradually developed, it is in essence a kind of ecological and democracy perspective. To solve the problems in ecological, ecological socialists are not only resorting to political democracy,economic democracy,international democracy, etc, but also expecting based on democracy with democracy way and method to change capitalism to ecological socialism.
