Nowadays, market economy has become a time of knowledge and economy. Intellectual property that works as an intangible assets, plays an important role to the development of economy. As the entrance of WTO and rapid development of globalization, intellectual property protection has become one of an important factor in economic development. Today, world tourism is growing rapidly. At the same time, tourism is the main core in the service industry. How to protect this right is more and more focused by us. But these are no complete systems and regulations on protecting it, so does the study on it. Tourism intellectual property(TIP) is commonly registered by others in advance. No regulations can control the spread of this.Therefore, protection on TIP(TIPP) is a heated and difficult debate in theory and practice. This essay aims to find the problems and try to find the reasons. Take international tourism industry of Hainan Island as an example and come up several suggestions.There are four chapters, as follows:The first one mainly talk about situation and such problems existed as geography mark registered by other in advance, products plagiarized, no character and attraction, and no order on protection in the tourism destination. Of course, Inadequate legislation, weak institutions, most of the individuals or organizations lack of knowledge of tourism and other intellectual property protection issues still exist.The second one aims to the comparison of TIPP in Yunnan, Guizhou and Qian county in Huangshan of Anhui, and analyze them. And the third one takes Hainan as an example. Explain the present situations and analyze them. The last one is mainly talking about a few problems of TIPP and some proposed advice. First, improve the tourism industry in intellectual property legislation; Second, establish the administrative departments of tourism and concept of intellectual property protection in travel business; Third, expand well-known trademark protection in the tourism industry; fourth, fully protect the rights of the main objections and withdrawal; fifth, strengthen intellectual property protection supervision and management of scenic spots.
