| Along with the development of information technology, the Internet has become one of the most important media in every aspect of people's modern life. Also, the online game which turned into a new economic growth point became the most popular way to entertain. Nowadays, online game has created the enormous market value, at the same time virtual property dispute has emerged. Is the virtual property which is the outcome of booming development of the online game the property? What is its legal nature? How to deal with the dispute which happens during practices? In our country, we do not have a definite law-making stipulation to solve preceding questions also with the posteriority of theoretical research and legislation, therefore, in order to find a legislative authority of specific case, our law-executor would make the expansionary explanation according to the relative clauses most of the time, which would lead to different verdicts for the same kind of case as well as damage the unity and authority of juridical practice. Hence, it is quite necessary to construct an improved system of legal protection to reinforce the security of virtual online game property.In this thesis, the author tried to analyze the different opinions on the legal nature of virtual online game property in the theoretic field and determine the nature of it starting with the conception of virtual online game property. Then, combine the manifestation of transaction dispute of current online game property with real judicatory case, at the same time the main issue of legislative protection of practical case has been analyzed. At last, the author discussed the legislative protection mechanism of virtual online game property and cataloged the civil right-obligation relationship between online game operating agencies and game players mainly from the perspective of civil law in order to try to construct a legislative system of the protection of virtual online game property under current legal framework.
