With the rapid development of economy and society as well as the deepening of the reform and opening-up policy, the number of migrant workers has greatly increased. In recently years, more and more attentions have been focusing on the family problems of migrant workers, and many scholars showed great concerns on these problems. By analyzing their working condition, income, family education, intergenerational communication and cultural feedback, this thesis endeavors to put forward some significant suggestions.Through literature study, questionnaire survey, and interview, this thesis studies the life of migrant workers in Hua Xin Street in Jiangbei District.115 questionnaires are sent out, and 106 of them are validly collected back, with an effective rate of 92.2%Combing the quantitative analysis of the questionnaire and qualitative analysis of case interviews, this study draws the following conclusions:Firstly, intergenerational relations differ according to children's different understanding of their parents'work; secondly, because of their long and irregular working hours, the immigrant workers have little time to communicate with their children. However, the wellbeing of the children is the major motivation that drives the immigrant workers to work hard and the biggest amount of their income are spent on their children. The immigrant works attaches great importance to their children's education. They no longer beat or criticize their children severely, but use some more moderate parenting styles:by communication, encouragement and praise. However, most migrant workers have too high expectations on their child, which results in the conflict in their intergeneration relations. Meanwhile, most migrant workers are not satisfied with their children, and they have little confidence in their children's future. Migrant workers have strong urges to communicate with their children, but their effort was restricted by the time litigation and their educational level. Therefore, their intergenerational communications are insufficient, inadequate in content and spiritual exchange. The satisfaction degree of their intergenerational communications is not high. The phenomenon of cultural feedback is prevalent among the migrant workers' families, reflecting in the aspects of living habits, aesthetics, shopping, entertainment, consumption, family and marriage, ect. The immigrant workers and their children are willing to accept these changes and try to adapt to them. Because of the cultural feedbacks, the family relations are greatly improved and enhanced, and the intergenerational relations are getting more and more harmonious. To sum up, the survey finds out that the intergenerational differences indeed exist in their family and the two generations are also aware of them, but these problems have not lead to severe intergenerational opposition and conflicts. The satisfaction degree of their intergenerational relation in the family is relatively high.
