Taiwan Peasant Association (1975-) Research

Compared with most districts of the mainland, Taiwan's natural endowments and the human customs are the same. Taiwan's bloodline is tied to the mainland. In the 1940s, the level of agricultural development was the same. In the past 60 years, many farming techniques have been modernized and the agriculture has entered the "three to live the stage ", that is the production, the life and the ecology, making enormous contribution to the growth of Taiwan's economy. The Peasants'Association is the engine to promote the success of the agriculture.Using the documentary method, comparative method and systematic method, the author analyzes the following aspects of Taiwan Peasants'Association:the coming into being and the development, the organization and the management, the daily operation, the expense of the funds, the characteristics and the challenges.This paper consists of seven parts. The introductory remarks part introduces the research significance, the research present situation and the research mentality of the paper.Chapter 1 introduces the natural condition of agricultural production in Taiwan and the historical context of agriculture development and briefly describes the coming into being and the development of Taiwan Peasants'Association. Chapter 2 surveys the organization and governance..It carries out the principle of territory. The Peasants' Association consists of township (town), county (city), province (municipality) three-level peasants'associations, the relationship of which is tutorial rather than directive.Between the Peasants'Associations the principle of the power separation is being carried out. Chapter 3 discusses the function and the operation. The Peasants' Association has political, economic, social and educational function.Generally, it carries on operational activities, such as the fanning promotion, the supply and sales, the credit and the insurance. Chapter 4 analyzes the sources and uses of the funds, explaining that the finance of the Peasants'Association has fallen into the difficult situation.Chapter 5 analyzes the characteristics and challenges.The last part of the thesis is the conclusion.To sum up the above arguments, the author can draw the following conclusions:As farmer "backer" Social organization, In more than 100 years history Taiwan Peasant Association can basically run a benign, display politics, economical, education, cultural multi-objective functions, It has been caused by both internal and external factors.External factors include the Government's handling of the relationship between farmers, the land system and legal institutional arrangements.The internal factors include government and the functional design two aspects including.Revelations:We must benefit from the Peasants Association experience,Establish cooperation organization,organize the mainland atomization small farmer to change into the modern farmer.Suggestion:Firstly, the government should play the influential role in the establishment cooperative organization work. Secondly, the cooperation should be organized scientific orientation operations.Thirdly, the cooperative should belong to the organization of farmers.Fourthly, establishes the complete legal framework to guarantee the cooperative organization.
