The Research Of XiLinGuoLeMeng Placenames

The thesis analyses the diachronic features of XiLinGuoLeMeng mongolian placenames and chinese placenames in linguistic perspective. Besides,this thesis analyses the relationship between XiLinGuoLeMeng placenames and regional culture.We can find some ragularity.XiLinGuoLeMeng placenames including mongolian placenames and chinese placenames have some characters.First, the stracture of XiLinGuoLeMeng chinese placenames is "proper name+general name".Basically,the wording of generral name reflects the terrain of XiLinGuoLeMeng.Different placenames reflects different natrual landscape.There are three tapes of XiLinGuoLeMeng chinese proper placenames:using surname and full name,using enviornmental words and using words expressing good desire. XiLinGuoLeMeng chinses placenames are rich in syllable structure.However,the three syllables and four syllables are the most popular and predominate in several syllable structures,which show that the three syllables and four syllables is optimum.This thesis thinks that the popularity of three syllables and four syllables reflects the peculiarity of placenames structure,which is different from the general lexion where two syllables predominate.The placenames structure is longer than general lexion because there are some subjective and objective factors.The objective factor is that the placenames structure is "proper name+general name" and the subjective factor is that three syllables or four syllables are clear and econmic which fit for communicative needs.Placenames is sepcial.Though the two syllables is a simper,but the two syllables are lack of enough distinct founction. The constructive types of chinese placenames is mainly partial formal and additional type. The structure of XiLinGuoLeMeng mongolian placenames is "proper name+general name" too.These mongolian placenames reflect the natural terrain of this region and good desire of mogolian people.There are mainly two types of mogolian placenames:partial formal and copulative type.The copulative type of mogolian placenames is different from chinese placenames because the proper name of mogolian is made up by two adjectives.For example,(?) (?):rich,lovely.(?) (?):rich,white.(?) (?):rich,happy.(?) (?): rich,safe.XiLinGuoLeMeng placenames contains rich cultural meaning,whose feature reflects the mutual confluence between minorities and han nationality.The placenames are composed by two languages proveing this situation. XiLinGuoLeMeng placenames not only reflect the terrain and natural resources,but also reflects political and military activities.At the same time, XiLinGuoLeMeng placenames reflect the trace of immigrants and contact between nations,religious belief of residents and mogolian culture.We can find out some existing problems:the name repetition and translation problems between mogolian placenames and chinese placenames by the analysis. This thesis put forward some measures to solve these problems.We hope to provide some information for standardization of placenames.
