The Analysis Of The Language And Culture Of Place Names Of Kaifeng

Place-name is a kind of proper noun in the whole vocabulary system. With the development of the human being it came into appeared, its number are very numerous, it is strong with a sign of times and Chinese characteristics.The place- names in Kaifeng city of Henan Province was investigated in this study. This thesis uses the theory of linguistics and its related knowledge to analyses it which was based on the previous study. From the perspective of linguistics, the thesis make a profounder research: the synchronic and diachronic features of the places in Kaifeng, its characteristic from the linguistic perspective and its word-using features, as well as the relationship between Kaifeng place-names and the regional culture. From the study to summaries the inherent structures of its language and the trends of being elegant in the naming of places. The research of place-name not only has most value in social cultural field, but also have certain of value in practical sense. The research of this paper will help to deepen people's understanding of the linguistic rules, dig and protect geographic culture of Kaifeng, in other aspects; it is also very useful for the people to have a deeper understanding of the local culture in Kaifeng.The paper is divided into five parts each chapter of content is as follows:The first chapter is introduction, which introduces a geographical and historical overview of Kaifeng and its current place-name research in the area of Kaifeng. This part also interprets the purpose, the significance, the methods and the select ion of language materials of this article in a detailed way.The second chapter discusses the internal analysis by its linguistic characteristics of place names of Kaifeng. It mainly by means of the classification of the place-name, the proper noun of kaifeng's place-name, as well as analyses the place-name from the rhetoric aspect, through the study of the collected data, to summarize the language rule of the place-name in kaifeng.The third chapter reveals cultural connotations reflected by Kaifeng geographic names. Classified expedition of the religion between the geographical cultural features , place -names between feelings and convictions and place-name between its symbol. From these three aspects, it is easy to get the cultural features which was implicated in the geographic names of Kaifeng.The forth chapter focus its attention on the evolution of the geographic names in Kaifeng. Through carefully analysis, you can sum up the four kind of reasons how it was evaluated by years. This part also make a multilevel research of its evolution model, and make clear that the changing trends of Kaifeng's place-name, that is it becomes more scientific, diversity and elegant.The fifth chapter is about the consideration of the standardization of the geographic name in Kaifeng. It firstly analyses the necessity of standardization in place names, geographic name and then point out its necessity and importance. In order to solve the existing problems in present place names of Kaifeng, finally puts forward some advices and proposals.The sixth chapter is the conclusion of the paper, which gives a Comprehensive review and summary.
