| Bolie is one of the traditional musical instruments of Zhuang ethnic group with a long history. It sounds sweet and expresses rich emotion, and its style integrates expression and performance together. Bolie used to performance in the village; however, it's played in the international stage after the improvement, which shows the lasting vitality. By analyzing the field materials and the comparison of related research, the author thinks there are rich ethnic cultures in Bolie. Firstly, the name of Bolie is developed from Bili, which is one of the traditional musical instruments. Secondly, the difference of play way leads to different data in the tone scale and range of Bolie. Thirdly, Though Bolie is used in the occasion of marriage, funeral and festival, it is the main instrument in"Fang", a rite in funeral."Fang"and Bolie are the symbols of BuDai ethnic groups. The spread of Bolie depends on the man who takes charge of"Fang". Fourthly,Bolie can be classified according to the musical instruments category. Fifthly, as the special instrument of Zhuang ethnic group, Bolie moved to the southwest of Guangxi from the north in Vietnam with the movement of BuDai ethnic groups. Bolie that was used by BuDai ethnic groups developed from Bili that was used in the ancient Vietnam palace. Sixthly, there are characteristic functions of palying, passing the culture, ceremony instruments, teaching and entertainment included in Bolie art. Seventhly, Bolie art reveals the thought of ancestor worship of Dai ethnic group and the sprite of Xiao culture。Research on Bolie art can promotes the its development, the musical theory research and the training on the sense of ethnic proud。Bolie art in Jinlong town is passed on generation by generation。Since 1980s,Bolie was played in the broad stage,and it faced the challenge from the change in the environment。Whether protection and passing on or assimilation and innovation is the actual problem in front of Bolie art。...
