Recently, the protection of the consumer's rights attracts tremendous consideration from the researchers in the law area, and a lot of issues about how to protect these related rights of consumers also become hot topics to be studied and discussed. Due to the fundamental and critical attributes in the system of consumer's rights, the consumer's right to know plays an indispensable role in the protection system of consumer's rights. As the rapid growth of the economy nowadays, the design of products becomes more and more complicated, and the industrial techniques of manufacture become more and more sophisticated. The consumers and the business dealers obtain very unbalanced information about the productions and services, which has been evolved distinctly. The consumers have no longer making the correct judgment and decision about the quality, facts and safety of products based on the conventional experience and the observation. When the consumers cannot obtain enough information of products, the shopping decision will not be optimal and of course, the business transaction will not achieve pareto optimal state. Obviously, the consumers always have to bear the cost of damage if the previous situation happens. Furthermore, this damage probably threats the consumers'life and property. Meanwhile, it will also disorder the economy and halt the development of the society. In this thesis, I carefully explore the origin and development of the consumer's right to know by the essential definition of it. And I also try to figure out a possible path to perform the legal protection of the consumer's right to know. At the same time, I summarize the structure of supervisory organizations of the consumer's right to know and make the suggestion that the central government and local governments should enforce some long-term regulations to oversee the protection of the consumer's right to know in order to keep the healthy order of the market, boost the development of the economy and guard the justice of the society.
