"On whom to depend and for whom to strive"is the watershed of materialistic and idealistic view of history as well as the touch stone of Marxism. People with Marx's guide create the view of history, a scientific and theoretical instruction that can help them arm themselves in self-liberalization.Chinese Communist is a Marxist party, the most faithful representative of the overwhelming majority of people. It is the Marxist view of people, fundamentally speaking, that help CPC gain and maintain the reign of the country for so many years. During Yan'an Period, Chinese Communists, lead by Mao Zedong, have formed a view-of-people-centered ideology. It holds that"To serve people rather than the few among them, is the ultimate purpose as well as the starting-point and end-result of the whole Party";to serve people, we must contribute whole-heartedly rather than half-heartedly or carelessly; to serve people, we must stand by, trust and rely on them persistently; to serve people, we must follow the fundamental policy—come from people and work for people; to serve people, we must take people's welfare into consideration and serve them with tangible and material benefits; to serve people, we must also persist in truth, correct wrongs because all the truths are beneficial to the people and vice visa. In the new era of Reform and Opening-Up, Deng Xiaoping and Jiang Zemin carry on and develop the Marxist view of people. Proceeding from the urgent desire and basic interest of the most extensive people, Deng makes"whether people support","whether people permit"and"whether people delight"the starting point and end result of every policy. He establishes"Three favorables"as the criterion to measure every work which has won the support of the whole nation. Hence opens up a new era, liberate and develop the working force radically, and assure the realization of peoples basic interests and the only road to common prosperity. Jiang Zemin has further enriched and developed Marxist view of people, leading the Party to establish"Three Represents"theory and the idea of"building the party for the interests of the vast majority"and"assume power for people". By forming the three integrated, Jiang points out that the key points of implementing"Three Represents"is to persist in"Advance with times"; the core of it is to persist in the advanced nature of the party; and the essence of it is to persist in"assuming power for people", or to answer why and how to execute. Centered with Hu Jintao, the General Secretary of Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee, with the study of the change of the world, the nation and the Party, raises the scientific view of development with the"people oriented"at the core, emphasizes on"power is exercised for people, affection is tied to people, interests is made for people", regards the realization, safeguard and development of the basic interests of the vast majority as the starting point and end result of work; to respect people's predominating position, to exert people's creative spirit, to safeguard people's rights, to assume common prosperity, to promote all-round development of individual, to make sure that development is for the people, relied on people and shared with people. The form of"People-Oriented"view is a tremendous development of"Serving the People", and it serves as the milestone of the party's view of people. The party's history proves that only by winning the people, can we win the victory; and to win the people,"interest"the primitive issue to concern. Both the adherence to be"people-oriented"and the persistence in"serve the people"have reflected the people-centered nature and orientation of CPC. They are also the most mighty driving force of the prosperity of the party as well as the people.
