The construction of competency model, which could help the mangers betterexecuate the position analysis, worker selection and recruitment, training, outstandingmanagement, and career planning, is the logical beginning and the important base ofhuman resource management and practical researches. A large number of researchfindings and abundant empirical experience have been achieved in this realm in theforeign countries due to they began these researches much earlier than the nationalresearch in our country. Furthermore, The competency model of"university studentvillage officer"is even more shorter result form the reason that we just at thebeginning in this areas. Considering that there is a significant difference betweendifferent cultures, industries and positions, this paper tried to bring the competencymodel into the research of"university student village officer"-as a special group ofresearch object-under the Chinese traditional cultural background so that we couldprovide a new angle for the research of this realm.This research acquired the competent index of the"university student villageofficer"by using the content analysis, questionnaire text, nterviews and BehavioralEvent Interview(BEI).In addition, we attempted to make up the competency model bycomparing the crucial difference of the competent traits of the performance of the"university student village officer". During the obtain of the competent index, 150participants were choose to test the key ability questionnaire and 141 effectivequestionnaire were received as a result. Furthermore, ten students were selected to beinterviewed and finally ten efficaciously texts were got. Also, 46 university studentvillage officers were interviewed by using the BEI and three ineffective texts wereexcluded, imcluding 24 high achievements and 19 low achievements.The results showed that the competency model of the"university student villageofficer"including nine excellent competent capacities:problem analysis and solvingability, resources using and integrated ability, executive capacity, pioneer and inventability, organization and management ability, village dependent, initative ability,influence and openness. otherwise, 14 basical competent ability are communicate ability, interpersonal skills, informationa cquire and using, learning ability, jobidentification,responsibility,accomplishmentguidance,humancentered,self-management, confidence, suitability, honest, village experience andcomprehensive knowledge system.Furthermore, this research probed the ways and methods of the competentexploration according to competency model,we hope this research could furnishvaluable referenced guidance for scientific, normative,and both practical andoperational training and educational system, selection and appointment system of"university student village officer".
