The Study On Foreign Direct Investment And Sustainable Development In Regional Economy

Sustainable development is just the theme of foreign direct investment in the 21 'st century. Sustainable development has been widely accepted and approved in the world since it turned up as a kind of conception and strategy. Domestic and international scholars have already studied and discussed it in many aspects. But we can see from the recapitulation of the present situations on relations between foreign direct investment and regional economic development, it points out that research on the effect of foreign direct investment in host countries and regions, from the angle of sustainable development, is one of the difficult point in sustainable development, and is sustainable development itself is waiting to be solved urgently as well.Using theories and methods concerns on regional economics, international investment, and sustainable development economics, the thesis systemically expounds the theoretic relations between foreign direct investment and sustainable development of regional economy, and with reference to the research results home and abroad, the thesis offers an assessment system of the ability of regional economy sustainable development and the influence of foreign direct investment based on multidimensional system plus the current situation of Tianjin. On the base of the system, adopting theoretical and empirical methods, together with quantity analysis and quality description methods and AHP, the thesis appraise quantitatively the ability of economic sustainable development and the influence of foreign direct investment in Tianjin. Based on the foregoing works, we bring forward some suggestions about regional sustainable development of Tianjin.The thesis theoretically enriches the fields and contents of sustainable development economics research on international investment, and it shows practical significance for Tianjin or others to utilize foreign direct investment.
