Study On Comparative Advantage Of Cotton In Xinjiang

As a kind of main cash crop and one of the industrial dope-dyed fiber raw materials, the cotton plays an important part in national economy. Cotton output in Xinjiang accounts for 1/3 of the cotton output in China. To increase Xinjiang peasant's income, keep the output stability of cotton and promote the development of textile industry of our country, so studying and strengthening the comparative advantage of Xinjiang cotton has special important meanings in China.The objective of this text is to study comparative advantage problems in the area of cotton production in Xinjiang. On the basis of the theory of comparative advantage, this thesis summarizes the index of agricultural products comparative advantage, designs a set of analyzing system of the cotton comparative advantage, and points out that the system of cotton comparative advantage should include in scale advantage, efficiency advantage, quality advantage and cost advantage.At first I discuss on comparative advantage theory and distinguish the comparative advantage and competition advantage in paper. Secondly, on the basis of comparative advantage theory of agricultural products, I propose analyzing system and methods in comparative advantage of cotton. Thirdly, I use the analyzing system and methods to analyze living examples on the cotton comparative advantage in Xinjiang. Finally, I put forward the countermeasure and suggestion of promoting cotton comparative advantage in Xinjiang.The innovation of this thesis reflects in two following aspects. The first, I systematically analyze the cotton production comparative advantage situation in Xinjiang in an all-round way. The second, this thesis analyzes the cotton rotating subsidies for the first time, aiming at imperfect Chinese agriculture supporting system and the problem that Xinjiang cotton successive plants for many years.
