When China is regarded as the third big country of the automobile sale of the world, the fourth big country of the automobile producing of the world, under the background of the fact that Chinese auto industry has cooperated and joined venture with international corporations for over 20 years, the discussion of Chinese automobile industry engaging in independent development, independent brand, and the topic of enterprise's key competitiveness, arouse great concern from domestic relevant different fields. People pay close attention to that under the highly open environment how to keep the ability of independent development and train independent brand. This question has a realistic meaning, and has far-reaching historic significance; not only concerns the present development of auto industry of our country but also concerns the future of auto industry of our country.This article, through carrying out a systemic research into the development course of Brazilian auto industry that are very similar with the development of the automobile industry of our country, and drawing lessons from the modes of Japan and Korea, has analyzed the hot question of establishing independent brand in country.The full article is divided into five parts altogether:Part one is the importance of automobile industry and the significance of analyzing the independent brand of auto industry. The automobile industry has very important function on national security and national defense construction. On wartime, automobile production line can be rebuilt to produce tank, armored vehicle, and military supplies train, etc. These are very important land warfare tool. Thus, to control the national automobile factories is quite important to national security of one country. The auto industry has quite important function on national economicdevelopment too. Because the auto industry involves very extensively, it becomes the pillar industry of one country, and its impact on the whole national economy is enormous and far-reaching.We should propose that all enterprises that exist in native country of China, including domestic-investment, joint-venture, wholly foreign-owned enterprises, should belong to the category of the Chinese automobile industry. The independent research and development ability of the Chinese auto industry not only includes the research and development ability of domestic-investment enterprises, but also include the ability of the joint venture enterprises in native country, and the ability of the wholly foreign-owned enterprises in China.Part two is the analysis of the experience of the development model of the auto industry of Japan and Korea. On the whole, the development model of the auto industry of various countries can be divided into two big categories, namely development-oriented to act on one's own and development-oriented to open. As the representatives of independent development modes of countries that developed auto industry afterward, Japan and Korea have reference function to us.There are the following several points of the enlightenment to other countries mainly in the evolution of the Japanese auto industry: ( 1 ) The appropriate, reasonable policy protect of government is certain to play a quite positive role of the growth of the country that developed auto industry afterward. (2) To those countries whose auto industry is still small and weak, so long as they can study and use the newest technological achievement of the world auto industry in time, and insist on cultivating national research and development ability for a long time, then catch the opportunity of the great change of market demand, it is still possible to realize the great leap-forward development of the auto industry. (3) Even though the whole auto industry has been highly with government interference and under the pattern ofthe monopolization competition since beginning, so long as the policy is appropriate, and regard participating in the international competition as goal all the time, then this pattern carft stunt the industry's technological progress at least.Korean auto industry is the generally acknowledged independent development model in the world too, its industry roller chain is intact, formed certain ability to develop independently and the brand with the independent intellectual property right. Though it has made success in a certain meaning during a certain course, it is very fragile in advanced position. The auto industry of Korea grows up under the energetically fostering of the government. But for a long time, the Korea government and the main automobile corporations have not pay enough attention to the question that the capacity of domestic market is too small and overseas fierce degree of market competition. The automobile group of Korea is attempting to look for the international cooperative partner in order to solve the short-term debt crisis problem at present, the development model of the Korean auto industry will be changed from the independent development model into the open mode.The third part is the development course of the Brazilian automobile industry and lesson analysis. The automobile industry development model of Brazil belongs to the style of opening depended industry. Its auto industry has already been monopolized by the external companies, and becomes an automobile processing factory of the world without independent property right. This is the result that the domestic and foreign factor acts on together.There is very great reference meaning to the development of automobile industry of our country in the Brazilian mode. As the typical representative of opening modes, the development goal of the Brazilian auto industry mainly concentrates on the following several respects: First, realize the goal of macro-economic growth through the development of auto industry, the thinking of development is not pursuing theautomobile industry chain intact simply, but acting the part of area manufacturer in the system of global industry chain; second, through the development of automobile industry, and relevant manufacturing industries, service trade, create numerous employment stations; third, increase government's fiscal revenues. Certainly, some questions exist too to adopt this kind of development model. At first, it hasn't independent brands of its own basically. Another one is that to adopt open mode will cause that the industry chain is difficult to continue promoting after certain stage.The fourth part is the thinking of the development model of automobile industry of our country. The automobile industry of our country is in the key period for development. Though outwardly, the developing policy of the auto industry of our country is to develop independently, our country is exploring the third road in fact.The realistic condition does not support us to adopt the independent development mode of Korea: first, the government can not adopt the highly supporting policy to the domestic market and domestic enterprises, second, after entering the WTO, the gate of the country has been already opened to the outside world, compatriots don't hope to walk in the old road of Brazil again either. Then the third meaning of road is put forward by scholars: first, under the background of the automobile industry globalization, the rational distribution of the key element is finished in the world, the auto industry of one country can not form the international competitiveness unless adopting the policy of opening; second, our country should utilize the comparative advantage to form our own advantage in the competition in order to make the result better than Brazil. 1 think the third road mentioned above emphasizes in promoting industry competitiveness in being opening to the outside world and cooperative, and forming big country's competition advantage in opening.The fifth part is conclusion.
