Research On Applying The ERP System To FKS Company

Computer technology, especially database technology plays an imponderable role in establishing managing information system for an enterprise, even in changing the idea of management, and the development of management idea forms a circulatory path of cause and effect with the development of information technology each other. But in practice, it has been proved that information technology is playing more and more important role in the management level of an enterprise.Enterprise resource planning system refers to the management plat which is based on information technology and provides decision methods for the management level of an enterprise and its employees by systematic ideas. ERP system with the information technology and advanced management ideas, becomes the running model of modern enterprises, shows the age requirement of the adjusting resource for enterprise to create fortune furthest, and therefore becomes the footstone on which enterprise can live and develop. The unification property of the ERP system can bring great benefits to enterprise including the deduction of error, the improvement of speed and efficiency, and more complete information channels. Having more complete information channels, the employees and managers can know the present working status of their enterprise better and make better business decision. The ERP system is just burn for serving for the information request of Manufacture Company. The ERP systems have newer developments, and begin to sever for other industries with the passing away of time.The software of ERP unifies the information which is used by a lot of different section of an enterprise in a whole system. This means to make the internal and different section of enterprise can acquire the same information. Accompany with the continuous development, the ERP system circulate on the host have already applied in the network which was only applied in only one computer at the beginning. The ERP system also has a lot of applied procedures. Looking back the ERP application and the development processes in our country, we can mostly divide it into three stages: First stage: Start period. This stage almost pierced through the whole 1980's .second stage: Growth period. This stage mostly is from 1990 to 1996.the third stage: Mature period. It is from 1997 to now. Along with the development of the market economy, the Chinese enterprise's original management method has been already unwell for the request of fierce competition. What the business enterprise has to face is more and more vigorous competition environment. The ERP system gradually will drive an enterprise favor because of having more functions.Seen from local circumstance, the ERP system increased at a very high speed which was about 27% from 1995 to 1997, especially in 1998, it was up to 35%. Along with China joint into WTO, the ERP system will develop at a very high speed necessarily.I work for FKS Company that is a joint venture company which is set up by the first automobile group in china and the Japanese Koyo Company. FKS' setting up time is very short and its equipments are new. Although the company is the joint venture company, in its early setting up years it still adopted an old management method in the planned economy ages. Along with the extended continuously, the product increased continuously and the new product of new car flowed out continuously now, the way of the handicraft management can't fit this kind of need far and far. Because the information is not on time and its accuracy is not enough, it ceases work to treat to anticipate the circumstance often occurs. Although FKS company has been established for only a few years and the information-based has been applied also for a few years, the application is more long-lost, the company's network and the database environments were not built up and the overall situation information can't be shared; For the most three important information systems-Marketing, produce, stock information system were not set up , it affect the whole company's ability of collaboration and the operation efficiencies; For the transact the automation has not been build up yet and internal information communication did not transact smoothly , it affect transaction of decision efficiency. For the original set of management method has not kept up with the enterprise development, it makes the policy of the layer knows that the enterprise of the vehemence of the fast development and the market competition put forward the higher request to the enterprise management. We should strength the enterprise's sale, plan, supply, the material, quality assurance, personnel and finance etc. what we do can also improve the enterprise's reaction speed of the market changing, raise the company's market competition ability ,keep the prosperous development ability of enterprise and maintain the core competition ability. The comprehensive information management system of the company should promote the management scientifically, normally and unify, and it also can liberate the grass-roots staff member from the simple repetition work. It even can carry out the management decision, product development, production control, stock management, the finance management etc completely. In 2003, we decided to establish Information-based management system of enterprise, usher the ERP system to strengthen the enterprise's resources management, promote the whole management level of enterprise. We implemented the ERP system in FKS Company in 2004.This thesis introduces the ERP theory on its origin and its process of evolvement, its development process and significance including the status of practical applications in China, expatiates on the ERP system in the aspects of the basic principle, the connotation of the administration ideas, the main functions and modules, the information strategy, the points of actualization, the new characters etc. What's more, I analyze the feasibility of applying the ERP system in FKS company combining with the actual situation of FAW group > FAWER company and FKS company.
