Study On Development Of County-level Economy In Quanzhou City Based On GIS

County-level economy is the basic unit of the national economy. It is also the driving force to fuel the national economy in a sound, fast and harmonious way. As far as Fujian Province is concerned, Quanzhou has the most prosperous county-level economy, which to a big extent benefits from the increasing strength and vitality of its economy at the county level. This thesis is intended to apply GIS (geography information system) and various mathematics methods to make a systematical study of the county-level economy of Quanzhou City in combination with district economics, development economics and economic geography so as to draw an objective and correct conclusion.In the first section, I dwell on analyzing the general situation of county-level economy in Fujian Province and China with a focus on Quanzhou City in attempt to reveal the significance and background of this study. Section Two elaborates on the theories and methods concerning county-level economy systematically in connection with the actual conditions in Quanzhou. In Chapter Three, the development situation of the county-level economy in Quanzhou is expounded from six dimensions. In Chapter Four, based on the developmental and integrative environment of ArcViewGIS software and the programming language Avenue, the author designs and develops a geographical information system of county-level economy in Quanzhou, which is characterized by people-friendly and practical graphic user interface as well as comparatively perfect functions. Chapter Five and Six are devoted to the quantitative evaluation of the county-level economy in Quanzhou employing various mathematics methods. Chapter Five mainly deals with the evaluation of county-level economy from the dimensions of comprehensive strength and industrial structures while Chapter Six embarks on making an in-depth analysis of it from six perspectives, the economic disparity between counties, the private sector, characteristic industry, professional market, export-oriented economy, small town, township enterprises at the county-level. On the basis of the above interpretation, the last chapter makes a strategic choice with regard to the county-level economy in Quanzhou.
