Nowadays the new military revolution is in the ascendant. US, the earliest to start, the most rapidly to progress, and the most sophisticated, has already made considerable accomplishments. Defense science and technology plays a vital role in the new military revolution, at once forerunner of it and technological backbone for its further development. The development of defense science and technology inevitably becomes the top priority in pushing forward the new military revolution with distinctive Chinese characteristics, ensuring that the revolution runs smoothly and efficiently, transforming military force in China from mechanization or semi-mechanization to informationization, and eliminating the generation gap between developed countries and China. Therefore, it is a must to assimilate the successful experience from developed countries, US in particular, in developing defense science and technology.It is behind the rationale above that the paper, on a systematical and integrative basis, expatiates upon the defense science and technology strategy in US after cold war. Based on the research on its "transformation of strategic thinking, positioning of strategic target, and adjustment of strategic measures", the paper, with the method of environmental systematic analysis, summarizes the triumphant measures US takes in developing defense science and technology and goes on to put forward constructive suggestions for the information revolution of military force in China. They are: on the one hand, lay emphasis on elementary research and development of elementary facilities for talents in the field of defense science and technology while stepping up the adjustment of defense science and technology; on the other hand, pay attention to adjusting strategic thinking, innovating management, and speeding up transformation of scientific products.
