The rise and development of scientific and technological revolution in the global area with modern information technology as its core have promoted the human society greatly. It also exerts profound influence on the ideological and political education in our army. Then a new need arises to apply information technology to military ideological and political education. Based on the analysis of the significance of the application of modern information technology in our army ideological and political education, with the study of the concept of information and modern information technology as a start, the thesis discusses the present condition of the application of modern information technology in the ideological and political education in our army and clarifies its objectives and basic principals, while putting emphasis on the application of database technology and the construction of ideological and political education resource pool; application of internet technology and construction of ideological and political education network; application of multimedia technology and the intensification of the appeal of army ideological and political education; research and develop the decision-making support system of the army ideological and political education.
