As a developing country, India has made considerable and attractive progress in the field of software in the information technology industry. Though the development of national economy and information technology industry of China surpasses that of India, up to now there still exists the disparity between the two countries in the software industry in spite of their starting exploiting the field under the similar circumstances and even the former with a better basis. It becomes an important research of subject that how we use the experience of India for reference, which possesses the same identity of developing country as China, in order to develop the software industry of our country, thus to raise the standard of infonnation technology industry and to promote the entire development of economy of China.Through the Competitive Advantage Theory of the well-known American economist Michael E. Porter, this thesis tries to study India's information technology industry, especially the representative software industry. Therefore, the experience of India argues that only by applying the strategies of the active training and the global project of the advanced essential factors, to which India's achievement in the software industry is mainly attributed, can a leap in this technology-intensive industry be realized nowadays when economy globalization and informationalization are developing throughout constantly. By analyzing the status quo of the relevant industries in China, this thesis aims to put forward the concrete strategies for speeding up the development of China's software and information service industries, which may be helpful and referential to the backward present situation of the information technology industry in China.
