A Study On The Sustainable Development Of Rural Tourism In Yangshuo

As one of the most important parts of tourism, rural tourism is becoming more and more popular among tourists in developed countries or those with high growth in tourism nowadays. However, it owing to the poor development has not attracted enough attention in China until the middle nineties last century, in which rural tourism becomes popular after China begins golden week holiday. Yet, there exist many practical problems on rural tourism because of its poor development and less sophisticated idea and theory in China, which inevitably limits its sustainable growth healthfully. Here, this paper takes Yangshuo county, one of the most famous resorts in China, as an example to discuss how to make rural tourism go towards the sustainable way and give some good ideas as well. The article consists of the theory, the instance and the conclusion together. The first part includes: It completely describes the situation of rural tourism of China and other countries, telling us the developing direction to the rural tourism of China. And it gives the concept of rural tourism and distinguishes rural tourism from ecologic tourism, farming tourism and village tourism. And it also discusses the future tide for rural tourism, which must develop in the direction of comprehensively touring function, singular brand, running collectivization and systematical management and investing pluralism. In the article, we will use the theories of community-involved tourism, city and countryside as a whole, the sustainable development, development pole, experience economy and resort life cycle on which the study is based, and we simply analyze and solve the problems that we will face when we begin the strategy of the sustainable development of rural tourism in China. The second is the instance. We firstly analyze the background of the rural tourism in Yangshuo county and indicate that the county is of the prevalence in improving rural tourism and can be put into practice properly. Secondly, we analyze the condition as well as the problem in developing the rural tourism of Yangshuo county and specially show the idea and the principle in this field. Additionally, we present our suggestions and answers to the problems. We hold that peasants can benefit very much from the ecologic tourism , as the result of which it becomes one of the most important parts of rural tourism in Yangshuo county. Water is the most favorite and it should be used properly to make a great name in the way of sight-seeing, fishing, floating, swimming, good food, recreation together for holiday along the Yulong river and Tianjia river and in the lower reaches of Lijiang river. Moreover, we can also exploit the village folk accompanied by opening the show of festival, together with other touring activities. Showing the feature of village must be controlled under the protection by the aid of some forms of recreation and participation as well as improving tourists'experiences emotionally for folk culture. More significantly, we should manage village hotel by intensive control, running it by the means of using medium and lower level more than high-tech level and sticking to the principle of opening steadily and promoting its function to be a part of something winning. In addition, we must consider seriously about the exploitation of rural tourism developing it towards the characteristics of folk feature, the localization and memorial-orientation and putting more investment into the professions such as industrial circles and made-by-hand factories to raise the additional value of agriculture. And we can make the touring project that tourists could choose their best way to travel as backpackers and hikers, or by bicycle and that directs the tourism depending to the traveling source and market demand, showing noticeably the travel of one-day travel. Finally, we provide seven ways to ensure the sustainable development of rural tourism in Yangshuo county. The third is the conclusion. Here, we insist that the rural tourism be necessary very much to Yangshuo tourism and the key to sustainable tourism. And rural tourism of Yangshuo should develop from the high level, branding, comprehensive function and leisure vacation.
