West Street is an old street with long history in Yangshuo, Guilin. It has millions of visitors annually. Because of its natural English language environment and the exotic experience it brings to visitors, it has been a well-known brand in Yangshuo's tourism products. The whole development process of West Street is introduced in chapter â…¡, from which we can discover that the tourism development of West Street can not get away from the popularity of the Guilin landscape, beautiful rural scenery of Yangshuo, government support on tourism development and the intelligence and efforts of merchants etc.; Chapter â…¢ elaborates these reasons specifically, and with the help of on-the-spot investigation, the author discovers that the core attraction of West Street to local visitors is the 'bar culture' and the foreign language environment, while comfortable rest and shopping environment is the core attraction to foreign visitors. To a large extent, local visitors' interest in West Street relates to the quantity of foreign visitors.However, in recent years, along with the deeper tourism development, domestic and international visitor's quantity changes a lot, stores and social circumstances also change accordingly. As a result, the function of West Street as main reception area of Yangshuo is outstanding increasingly, and its cultural atmosphere is becoming weaker. West Street has the danger of becoming a common business street.
