Rural Tourism, Research And Practice

Nowadays a new trend of tourism is booming in our country-that is rural tour. Rural tour still remains a new field yet to be researched and developed in our country, though it was considerably developed and prevail in Europe during 1920s-1930s. This thesis dwells on the inevitability of rural tour, its history and present development. It analyses the definition of rural tour, specifies its scientific connotation and extension, and clarifies several ambiguous concepts about rural tour. The results of the study provide some significant guidance in the rural tour research both in theory and practice.What's significant in this thesis is that it dwells thoroughly on the two primary theories, on which rural tour development relies, and demonstrates these two theories' practical eifects on the rural tour development. Theoretically the thesis particularly analyses the influences which rural tour brings to the environment, society and economy. On the other hand, the results of this study is highly feasible and practicable because with the method of market analysis it has studied the market demand for rural tour, its product varieties and its development modes.This thesis uses Yangshuo and Longsheng-which are considered as prominent models in Guilin district-as its sample cases to illustrate the rural tour development modes, and demonstrate the achievements in these two areas and its model effects by successfully combining theory with practice.
