The system of U.S. foreign policy decision-making is a complex system, and the interest group is an important factor in it. This is a striking feature of the American politics.This dissertation analyses the relationship of the interest group and the American foreign policy decision-making in macroscopic aspect and microcosmic aspect. It also adopts the methods of the Marxism and empirical research.This paper expounds the role of American interest group in the specifically political, economic, cultural background. This dissertation is consisted of five chapters. In the first chapter, it explains the theory of the interest group. Then, in the second and the third chapter, the dissertation makes an intensive study of the causes and the methods of the interest group participate in American foreign policy decision-making.In the fourth chapter, the dissertation makes three case studies on the interest group participate in American foreign policy decision-making. It wants to explain the procedures of American foreign policy decision-making authentically.In the last chapter, this dissertation makes the evaluation of the role of the American interest group. And the paper analyses the role of the interest group in the relationship of the China and American.Base on the study, this dissertation wants to give us some help in understand, evaluate and forecast the American foreign policy. Besides this, it tries to makes an intensive study of American or even the other western countries foreign policy decision mechanism and help us table the constructive proposals to China foreign policy.
