American Influence In Japan's Northeast Regional Strategy After Cold War

Northeast Asia is the important region for Japan to exist and develop in geostrategic angle. In history, the region was the Japan's traditional goal to obtain interests. After cold war, the economic and politic structure of the region has been changing, and so many factors have promoted Japan to make adjustments in its regional strategy. Through analyzing the diplomatic policies and activities of Japan government, we can know about that Japan has essential strategic frame and distinct strategic objective. That is to take America-Japan relationship as base, to take keeping China away as emphasis, to take regional power as goal so as to create security surroundings and to be world political power. But something of it should cause our attention: one is that it so emphasizes U.S-Japan Alliance that America has important influence on Japan's strategy, which is also special strength to China;the other is that it is obvious for Japan to keep China within limits.As one of the wings to promote China's development, Northeast Asia is important for security and economy in strategy. So concerning for and studying on Japan's northeast regional strategy and American influence after cold war not only enable us to grasp development's tendency of Japan but also have great significance in safeguarding the safety and modern construction of our country.The structure of the thesis is arranged as follows:Chapter 1 analyzes the basal frame of Japan's northeast regional strategy.Chapter 2 analyzes America has an important influence on Japan's regional strategy. Firstly the thesis analyzes the influence is objective historical and successive. Because not only Japan depends on America partly but also America needs Japan in Northeast;secondly analyzes the influence of America includes several parts.Chapter 3 analyzes Sino-U.S-Japan relationship manifests trigonal relationship through Japan's Northeast strategy. Three of the countries cooperate and compete each other. America has special influences on Sino-Japan relation and Sino-America. Therefore China should deal with them carefully.On the base of methodology that things relate one another, the thesis uses historical analyzing method, comparative analyzing method and so on. The conclusion is that American influence has two sides- positive side and negative side. So we should have the essential principia: standing on Japan's strategic tendency and its China-policy and considering American influence adequately we make necessary and feasible strategy for the country interests.
