| John · Rawls(1921------2002)is a renowned political philosopher and ethicist of thecontemporary America. He kept writing since his first book The Theory of Justice, was published in 1971, and finished Political Liberalism, The Law of People, Justice of Fairness: A Restatement, and so on. Rawls' theories made a definitely important position in the contemporary ideological trend of western age. His system of theories not only profoundly affected the trend of the new liberalism in the end of the 20th century and at the beginning of the 21st century, but also realized the regression from the behaviorism back to the political philosophy, and strongly refuted the utilitarianism about the view of values, publicizing the ethical view of value based on justice. Therefore, Rawls' theories have caused world-wild discussions, which deserve our necessary research.Rawls took justice as the core and the characteristic of his theories. In this article, I took his main works as a clue, making a second-time study and review the main content and developing tendency.Our country is on the critical time of the construction the Chinese characterized socialism. There is a paradox of "efficiency" against "fairness" in the distribution sphere of our country in recent years, the policies of the government have gradually turned from searching for efficiency unilaterally to the direction of paying attention to the social fairness, which symbolize that our system of distribution is turning to be mature in the exploration. The justice of distribution is an important content in the theories of Rawls. Therefore, the study of Rawls' theories of justice, and contacting them to the actual situation in the stage of our country, can provided the effective model to discuss the resolution to the problem in the distribution sphere, and can realize a more reasonable socialistic system of distribution, then to guarantee the stable development of economy and the full-scale development of the construction of the socialistic.
