Role Of Government In Providing Public Goods

All the time, people have thought that the government is the effective and optimum way in solving of providing the way public goods, because it can utilize and force strength to solve the problem of cost allocation of public goods. Government's strong strength in supply of public goods makes people believe it is equally effective in producing public goods. But in fact, the provision subject of public goods is plural, it includes government, market and the third sector in the society; Meanwhile, provision can be separated from producing, government is the only one important provision subject. In the face of the new change, the government should examine its one's own status closely; realize it turns from omnipotent provider of the past into limited provider. Especially, with the development of new public management, its role is shown as the entrepreneur more , government wants more to keep in touch with the private sector , to form the close relation of partnership, to provide more efficient public goods.
