The Chinese government attaches importance to the United Nations' policy greatly. Since the PRC was founded in 1949, the United Nations has taken an important place in the documents of the Chinese foreign policy. But unfortunately, the Chinese representation in the Unite Nations was associated with the fierce conflict between the two camps, which made the problem of Chinese legal seat in the United Nations undone for a long time. China had been repelled from the United Nations for 22 years. During this time, the Chinese attitude towards the United Nations changed a lot. That kind of change affected the Chinese policy towards the United Nations directly. At first, the Chinese leaders were confident that China would join the United Nations finally. But after the rejection for many times, the Chinese realized that the obstacle from the United Station had become the barrier of the efforts that China had made. After the Korea war, the leaders of China adjusted the policy towards the United Nations. Chinese government started to criticize the United Nations fiercely. And also the Chinese leaders didn't ask for the representation in the United Nations any more. But the 26th General Assembly passed the resolution of 2758, the Chinese legal seat in the United Nations finally resolved. The Chinese government had to make the policies towards the United Nations. As a developing country, China supports the interests of the developing countries and set up the "international united front" in the United Nations to oppose the America "imperialism" and the Soviet "revisionism". Nevertherless, because of the unfamiliar with the international rules, plus the influence of the internal politic situation, the Chinese leaders estimated the international situation from the "class conflict" angle. The Chinese government paid a great attention to the struggle in the politic areas, as for the peace-keeping, human rights and the disarmament institutions, it didn't attend because of the negative influence. After china open up to the outside world, the Chinese government adjusted the foreign policy. China began to comprehensively participate in the United NationsThe present thesis consists of 5 parts. The first part analyzes the change of attitude towards the United Nations. The second part elaborates why the Chinese leaders changed the attitude. Part three sheds light on the Chinese policy towards the United Nations from the time China joined the United Nations to 1978.The 4th part focuses on the Chinese policy towards the United Nations after China opened up to the outside world. The last part is the conclusion that I made.
