Since independence and 50 years of development, India has become a regional superpower in the subcontinent of South Asia. As we enter the 21st century and the gradual formation of a multi-polar world pattern, Indian economic reforms continue, the comprehensive national strength is in a steady increase. In the 21st century, India will play an increasingly important role in the regional and even global affairs.The thesis can be divided into three parts.The first part mainly analyzes India's external strategic objectives at the beginning of the 21st century, and a series of external strategy that India have taken to achieve this goal. "dominate South Asia, control the Indian Ocean and strive to be a world-class power," is India's the highest national strategic objectives. To achieve this strategic objective, India takes the measures as following : foreign economic strategy; Powers balanced strategy; "East into" external strategy; neighber-harmony external strategy and external military strategy with nuclear deterrence.The second part expounds India's international strategy toward China.India's external economic strategy enhances the economic dependence between India and the world and China. In a sense, this become a constraining factor in the Indian war and make a contribution to the Asian security and stability. Of course, India's international strategy also created a favorable peripheral environment of peace for Chinese economic development. To some extent, Indian powers balanced strategy not only improved the relations between India and China but also checks and balances. Although...
