On Protection Of The Right To Privacy On The Internet By Means Of Civil Law

The Development of Laws and Science and Technology are both important symbols of progressive civilization of human being. At the mean time of exerting great influence on the style of life and modes of thinking of mankind, the modern science and technology of Internet also encourages people to pioneer new legal fields and affects the contents, regulatory spheres of law and the legal system in connection with it. Internet transforms the connotation and extension of right to privacy profoundly, and makes it necessary to redefine the concept of right to privacy. Challenge to the protection of right to privacy frustrates the confidence of Internet users and curbs the further development of Internet, which can be solved by making right to privacy an authentic right the users enjoy by means of legislation. Therefore, we should consult advanced foreign legislative experience, bear in mind the requirement of internationalization, and carefully analyze the problems of our country under the indirect protection mode.
