The Development of Laws and Science and Technology are both important symbols of progressive civilization of human being. At the mean time of exerting great influence on the style of life and modes of thinking of mankind, the modern science and technology of Internet also encourages people to pioneer new legal fields and affects the contents, regulatory spheres of law and the legal system in connection with it. Internet transforms the connotation and extension of right to privacy profoundly, and makes it necessary to redefine the concept of right to privacy. Challenge to the protection of right to privacy frustrates the confidence of Internet users and curbs the further development of Internet, which can be solved by making right to privacy an authentic right the users enjoy by means of legislation. Therefore, we should consult advanced foreign legislative experience, bear in mind the requirement of internationalization, and carefully analyze the problems of our country under the indirect protection mode. Electronic evidence forms the bottle neck of protection of right to privacy, which should be adequately emphasized along with the legislation of material law. This article is divided into 4 chapters, probing into the civil protection means of right to privacy on the Internet.Chapter one addresses the challenges to the protection of right to privacy by the development of Internet, which includes influence to connotation and extension of the concept of right to privacy by the development of Internet, and challenge of the fictitious, opening and autonomous, and technical characteristics of Internet to the protection of right to privacy.Chapter two addresses the protection status quo of right to privacy on the Internet by certain countries and regions.Chapter three analyzes China's legislation status quo on the protection of right to privacy and it's problems on the Internet.Chapter four puts forward some suggestions on the construction of civil legislation on the protection of right to privacy on the Internet.
