The communist Party of China (CPC) is vanguard of the Chinese working class and the Chinese nation, always working for the interests and liberation of the people. The masses are the creators of history, and are the main force of revolution and construction. The party and masses cannot be separated. Dealing with party-masses relationship rightly is important for CPC. In the period of democratic revolution, CPC had formed the party-masses relationship suitable to era; therefore, CPC had established political foundation for the victory of democratic revolution. Now we are constructing socialism with Chinese characteristics, advancing the development of material civilization, spiritual civilization, political civilization and harmonious society and realizing the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way, so we must form new party-masses relationship, suitable to development of era, expectation of the people, historical missions undertaken by CPC.Comparing with the period of democratic revolution, CPC, being the governing party, faces different circumstances and is situated in different position, and endeavors to accomplish different tasks. Therefore, CPC's party-masses relationship presents inevitably different characteristics, but there must be common, general aspects. So grasping it and getting essential conclusions can be served to guide the developing of CPC's party-masses relationship.Mao Zedong theory of party-masses relationship in the period of democratic revolution is an important part of Mao Zedong Thought,its content is plentiful. This thesis, based on striving to grasp the essence and associating with contemporary reality, concentrates on primary principles and dialectic tenets of maintaining close party-masses relationship and taking party-masses relationship as the core of strengthening party-building.
